NPR.org is my personal Shangri-la. From T’Challa to Ebenzer Scrooge, the site offers something for everyone. The site design is minimalist, sleek, and easy to navigate. News topics include world, politics, business, climate, science, health, and race. Users can read or listen to stories, explore culture, music, podcasts and shows, and sign up for several daily and weekly newsletters. The Picture Show, is a compilation of “Photo Stories from NPR,” and the site allows users to listen live to WAMU 88.5 and build your own NPR playlist. NPR stopped using Twitter, (now X), in 2023 but uses Facebook and Instagram for news and cultural updates. NPR’s “About” page is effective in explaining its mission, core values, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and support by listeners. Personally, I would link to NPR stories in my own work where their stories compliment my work and add credibility to my theses.
